MONTE-CARLO FASHION WEEK 2021: THE 9TH EDITION IS CONFIRMED FROM MAY 14. TO 18. 2021 in Monaco

The fashion sector becomes one of the keys to a conscious and respectful future. This is the winning bet of the Monte-Carlo Fashion Week, the event that once again confirmsitsrole as a showcase for trends and, at the same time, continues its essence as a reference platform for ethical fashion, in Europe and in the world.

The international event thus confirms its next edition, Under the High Patronage of H.S.H. Princess Charlène of Monaco, from the 14th to the 18th May. A physical restart with the highly anticipated Fashion Awards Ceremony that will be held on May 18, at the Salle des Etoiles of the Sporting Monte-Carlo, where will attend authoritative personalities from the fashion industry, who have distinguished themselves for their ability to combine creativity, sustainability and social responsibility, in an identity manner.

The MCFW also presents a calendar of digital events, that can be followed on the website chambremonegasquemode.com/mcfw, and on their social channels @montecarlofashionweek. Thanks to the media partner Fashion Channel, all contributions will also be broadcasted on Fashion Channel’s youtube. The official radio of the event will be Radio Monte Carlo. The heart of the event will, as always, be the rich rendez-vous panel that characterizes its format and which will see the presence of the most innovative designers of the international scene who will alternate moments of encounter, with the presentation of their collections and spaces dedicated to in-depth talks on fashion themes, from ethics and sustainability to possible future scenarios related to the sector.

The project „A conversation with“, is the ideal flag holder for a new way of doing fashion, a series of digital encounters where the protagonists of the catwalks from all over the world will explore cultural themes, discussing the state of the art of fashion and hypothesizing the possible scenarios of the future. Among the confirmed names we will find, entrepreneur Brunello Cucinelli, who will inaugurate the calendar.

Great moment dedicated to sustainability, the conversation between Sara Sozzani Maino, (Head of Vogue Talents and Deputy Director of Vogue Italia as well as International Brand Ambassador CNMI), and the founders of the mexican brand Desserto, winner of the MCFW Sustainable Award 2020.

The participation of Audrey Tasiaux, creative director of the Monegasque sustainable luxury brand Diana D’Orville, interviewed by Muriel Piaser is also expected.

There will be no lack of attention to the theme of inclusiveness and the importance of cultural exchange: a talk with the founder of the Dakar Fashion Week, Adama Ndiaye, who will let us discover the fascinating world of Senegalese designers. A special space consisting of three events directed by Stella Jean in collaboration with the Afro Fashion Association, will see the intervention of designers, special guests and members of WAMI, discussing the theme of inclusiveness.

Creativity remains the protagonist, as in any self-respecting fashion appointment, thanks to the virtual catwalks and physical Pop Up, in which the proposals for the next season will be presented by international brands such as Sofia Alemani, Beach & Cashmere Monaco, Laura Spreti, Inessa Creations and many others. Between short films, digital content and physical presentations, an overview of conscious style where beauty, as always, is accompanied by the respect of the environment.

The second edition of the #SustainableTogether Contest is dedicated to the protection of the planet and an all-around ethical attitude. The competition will reward the brand most capable of standing out for its ethical and innovative vision, entrusted to a video and translated into sustainable creations.
