He was crowned „Best Receptionist in France“ after an exceptional final held at the Peninsula Paris on December 2, 2024.
This competition, which highlights the best professionals in the hotel industry, saw Joël stand out
among five finalists, proudly representing the Côte d’Azur. Thanks to the support of the Head of Reception
at the Fairmont Monte Carlo Sébastien Brincat, and after a pre-selection based on videos
demonstrating his professional skills, Joël brilliantly passed two tests: an eloquence competition on the relevance of the dress code in the hotel industry and a role-play in English, where he was able to manage complex situations in front of demanding customers.
With a career marked by experiences in renowned establishments such as the Hôtel de
Paris Monte-Carlo, the Hôtel du Cap – Eden Roc, and the Hotel Café Royal in London, Joël is a true
ambassador of high-end hospitality. Since his beginnings at the Reception, he has demonstrated
unwavering commitment, developing his expertise in contact with an international clientele. He
also enriched his career with experiences in Courchevel, at the Airelles Gordes, and within
the family establishment, the Narev’s Hôtel in Menton before joining the teams at the Fairmont Monte Carlo.
Passionate about the hotel industry since his childhood, Joël describes his job as a stage where each
day offers a unique spectacle, mixing human interaction and management of varied requests.
His professionalism, his ability to manage complex situations and his team spirit have
allowed him to distinguish himself in his field. Joël’s victory in the 2024 David Campbell Trophy opens the doors to the AICR international competition „World’s Best Receptionist“, which will be held in Athens in March 2025.
A unique opportunity to represent France and Monaco on the world stage, and to showcase the excellence of the French hotel industry.
