The exclusive selection of galleries delighted art lovers and collectors from the region, but also international visitors, happy to meet again and discover high quality works within the Principality.
The summer period proved to be ideal for the various actors of the event, the region also offering a rich programme of cultural exhibitions. Many parallel events and exhibitions in the Principality honored the sixth edition of the fair, thus testifying to artmonte-carlo’ s unifying role.
The Prix artmonte-carlo – F.P.Journe was awarded to the best gallery presentation of the salon, by an institutional jury composed of Björn Dahlström (director of the Nouveau Musée National de Monaco), Eric Mangion (artistic director of the Villa Arson, Nice) and Nicolas Bourriaud (curator, art critic and art historian). The prize was awarded to Florentine & Alexandre Lamarche-Ovize, represented by Galerie Laurent Godin.
In parallel to the gallery program, the presentation of works from the Julia Stoschek Collection, Düsseldorf, in a dedicated space also welcomed art lovers and collectors, delighted to discover more than 10 video installations on the sidelines of the fair. Among the exhibited artists: Hannah Black, Loretta Fahrenholz, Douglas Gordon, Klara Liden, WangShui, Chloe Wise and Tobias Zielony.
The dates of artmonte-carlo’s 2023 edition will be announced shortly.
