Placing sustainability at the heart of the catwalk, the Monte-Carlo
Fashion Week, has become the reference event for ethical and sustainable fashion, which is
preparing to return with its rich panel of fashion shows and events from 23 to 27 May.
Fashion shows and events, contest and gala, conferences, moments of networking and discussion,
all this and more will be the heart of the tenth edition of the event that will take place, Under the
High Patronage of H.S.H. Princess Charlene of Monaco and which will involve the main
protagonists of the fashion world and young talents. Unlike the two previous editions that used
digital channels to allow the event to take place despite the pandemic constraints, this year’s
appointment will offer physical shows and face-to-face events in which rendez-vous and
presentations will alternate.
Naturally the spotlights are all on the catwalks, which will host the highly anticipated collections
for the next season of international and Monegasque brands, guided by the conducting principle of
an ethical, recognizable, strongly conscious style. The Salle Garnier of the Monte-Carlo Opera, will
become the prestigious location of a calendar which, on the opening day of Monday 23 May,
presents, the chic luxury in a sustainable key that characterizes the creations of Beach &
Cashmere Monaco, the brand by Federica Nardoni Spinetta – President and Founder of the
Chambre Monégasque de la Mode and Monte-Carlo Fashion Week – known for its ethically
responsible collections, bearers of a message aimed at protecting nature. Followed by the seductive
femininity signed Isabel Fargnoli, accompanied by the eco-sustainable bags by Thalie Paris,
the fresh collections of July of St. Barth, the luxurious kimonos by Sora Byrd, a breath of the
East with the Japanese Mitori Paris, the couture shoes by Daniele Giovani Design and the
precious contemporaneity of the South American brands of Presente Ancestral: Ana Carolina
Valencia, Xzae, Chanklas Atelier, Ani Alvarez Calderon.
The next day will feature the
Mediterranean spirit of the talented Gigi Carzaghi, the art couture of Flavia Fleming with the
noble jewels of Stardust Monte-Carlo, the Optical art of Marcos Marin x Diana Mara and
the glamour of the 80’s reinterpreted in a contemporary key by Ramzen, the made in Italy brand
created by the Saudi stylist Adbul Al-Romaizan, whose aesthetics syncretically blend East and West
in the name of luxury. A brand which over time has been able to give life to a couture with a
cosmopolitan soul, and is able to sublimate local craftsmanship, the cult of tradition and an avantgarde with a timeless attitude and an unmistakable style in a proposal for her and for him that
represents an unicum on the international scene.
The Ramzen fashion show will open the highly anticipated MCFW Fashion Award 2022
Ceremony, during which the creatives who participated in the Sustainable Contest will be
awarded, as they stood out for their ethical and innovative vision translated into collections with a
high fashion content, capable of celebrating at the same time the excellence of craftsmanship and
the use of innovative materials.
Choice decided by a jury led by Sara Sozzani Maino (Head of Special Project Vogue Italia), with
by her side, Federica Nardoni Spinetta, Terrence Bray (award-winning designer and
professor at the Durban University of Technology Fashion and Textiles, representing H.S.H.
Princess Charlene of Monaco) and Matteo Ward (CEO and co-founder of WRAD and member of
Fashion Revolution Italia). To follow in the next days, events and presentations, which will
culminate with the Amber Lounge closing shows of the genderless Alter brand by Pauline Ducruet,
the Arloe Swimwear collections, the elegant dresses by Gina Frias, and the female
representation of Dea Madre, to conclude with the Monegasque brand Crisoni that will dress
international drivers.
