Several departments of the Town Hall get involved each year alongside the Diocese of Monaco, the Princely Government and the National Committee of Monegasque Traditions in the organization of the two days of celebrations for Saint Devote, on January 26 and 27.
As guarantor of traditions, the Town Hall of Monaco is committed to doing everything possible to ensure that the life and legacy of the Patron Saint of Monaco are celebrated.
The festivities began Sunday January 26 in the morning with the Mass of Traditions in Monegasque at the Church of Saint Devote and continued at Port Hercule around 6:30 p.m. with the presentation of the Relics of the Saint to the members of the clergy. As is customary, a Procession then formed from the Port to the Church of Saint Devote where the Benediction of the Most Holy Sacrament was celebrated.
At around 7:45 p.m., LL.AA.SS. The Princely Couple, Hereditary Prince Jacques and Princess Gabriella
set ablaze the symbolic boat on the Quai Albert Ier, alongside Mayor Georges Marsan, members of the
Municipal Council and many representatives of the highest Monegasque institutions.

Delegations from the three twinned cities of Monaco were also present: Lucciana (Corsica), Ostend
(Belgium) and Dolceacqua (Italy), thus demonstrating a spirit of community and religious fervour, illustrated by several melodies sung by Corsican singers and pieces performed by the Municipal Band.
